The layout of the KIA enRoute shows ... its limited for 3 persons (a hugecomfortable driver seat for the salesman + 2 optional seats for woman or/and child). In my future scenario a salesman gets a business car just for his job processings. If there is a emergency or if he keeps the car over the weekend he can carry 2 more people. Usually there is the luggage compartment behind the driver seat. If the driver has to carry someone else he can fold down the two seats in the back.
Length > Audi A5 width, front > BMW 5 series E60. The height is changeable by ride-height control.
There is a possibility to put a high efficient piston (directly driven crankshaft) engine between the rear track and if electric technologies are perfected you can replace the piston engine by some batteries.

I started thinking about the basic shape. I wanted to keep it simple, therefore the sketching process started with a driver capsule + the required suspension elements. I decided myself in the end for a pulled capsule design.
Furthermore I decided to create a vehicle which is more based on car dimensions, than on a tiny eco-scooter.

Business coupe a professional long distance car

I already mentioned that I am a great fan of the european highway culture. You can find this for example on roadhouses/highway stations/motels and directly on the track (the highway). It is evident that the highways are a separated world of traffic and life. Mostly there is a fence dividing this high speed track from the ordinary streets and landscapes. There is a reason for that ... the highway is not just a street ... its more something like a runway/airstrip. This road requires much more performance from a car than an ordinary street. Higher speed calls for a better aerodynamic, brakes, more driver attention, for some people also more bravery, etc. Generaly its a traffic scenery with the highest requirements for driver and machine ... a kind of professional driving track. Between all the people who drive on the highway there is one category of drivers ... drivers with a lot of driving routine ... some also call them roadwarrior ... the traveling salesmen or frequent drivers.

Therefore the target of my final project was to create a car for the professional driver ... the traveling salesman who is spending a lot of working time by driving on highways. The final car should be a professional working tool for the customer (the pilot/roadwarrior) but with the sustainable future in mind.

scenario:

1. There will be no tax-deductability for business cars anymore, because the european government wants to start the co2-based tax. Today about 70% of the big limousines and SUVs (luxury Jeep) are calendered by companies. Some parties already require to cancel this tax -deductability.

>> This calls for a new/special kind of business car

2. In the meantime the economy is addicted to the highway system. A lot of companies settled/settle down next to the highways.

>> The car industry has to find also future solutions for a long distance car

3. There will be different drive train concepts in the future because the feasability of almost every alternative drive train technology is still in progress.

>> Therefore the structure/package of the car should allow a possibly upgrade/change of the drive train technology.

neco space frame: the car should be generally inspired by racing cars, whose design is a result of light weight / functional aspects. I think its a good way to improve the design of racing tecnologies to create an kind of race-tech aesthetic ... to create a perfect symbiosis of efficient technologies and comfortable every day applications. thats part of an evolutionary process...optimize by coping and combining efficient facts.

The neco space frame is at the same time the light weight structure of the car and generates space for luggage, etc.

I decided myself for the third scenario ... because Iam a great fan of the german/european highway culture which you can find/recognize at the highway petrol stations, motels, roadhouses. There you find traveling salesmen putting fuel into their working machines. I developed my interest for this unique field of todays traffic already years ago thats why I decided to focus/force a working process all around this highway culture to find solutions for the our sustainable future. First of all while my interieur project and after that for my exterieur diploma.

The semester was sponsored by VW ... we were instructed to create a car (INTERIEUR) for ourself in 20 years. At this time I was generally into researches about sustainability and ecology. Therefore my project was also influenced very much by the eco-thinking:).

I thought about following the lifestyle of health and sustainability (LOHAS). I also had to think about where Iam going to live, where Iam going to work and if Iam going to start a family or not.

Therefore I had 3 different concepts for my sustainable world scenario 2028.

1. Iam going to live and work in a city. Maybe a family(1 child), maybe not.
>> I just need a small city vehicle to go to work and shopping. (short distance car)
If I wanna go further I will rent a bigger car (car-sharing) or go by train.

2. Iam going to live in the back-country where is a bigger distance between my job and my home . Maybe family(1 child), maybe not.
>> I will need a car thats strong enough for distances about 80 to 150 km/day and for the family transport. (middle distance car)

3. Iam going to be a single. I won t have an unlimited employment contract(self-management). Therefore Iam going to be involved in several projects every year, all around the country. (long distance car)
>> I will need a car which is done for higher speeds (aerodynamic) and more performance. This car will be my mobile office but also my mobile home in foreign places. This car shall be a kind of professional tool for high speed traveling, a car for distances above 150km/day (highway-car).

The civic is a distinctive car for distinctive people ... a car for excentric, sporty and fashionable customers...
its design reminds of science fiction things like starships or robotics (best example Boba Fat). My proposal continues the sci-fi theme...today robotics aren´t sci-fi anymore....whats the next step in science fiction ?

cyborg design...the car gets more alive again ... surface language is a mixture of hard technical framework and soft, meaty skin which is stretched over the basic structure.
Main inspiration was the famous terminator ... the technical machine is done like a human sceleton but with a lot of asemmetrical, technical elements. The asymmetry gives the car a very distinctive look which will be easier to remind ... like a person with a scar in its face...distinctive!

the project was driven by the well known words of Sir Henry Royce:

"Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it."

in all the pictures of the Rolls-Royce record history (for example: Supermarine, bluebird record cars and boats> K3, K4, K7 ,etc.) you can see what Sir Henry Royces words were ment for. The pictures are showing authentic heros like the Campbells who were always striving for the best. It was a matter of life and death.

Rolls-Royce combines always traditional aspects with a lot of high-tech. The current Phantom for example is based on an aluminium space frame. The front fenders are made of composites to reduce weight and to place the antennas underneath. These are only some examples of the progressive thinking of the company which I wanted to emphasize with a new interpretation of the bluebird record car.

the mission was to create a street-legal car for Jenson Button or Rubens Baricelo. A formula one driver living in Monaco has a lot of cars. Therefore he needs something special, something individual, a car that’s just made for his everyday life. During my research I found out how Jenson and Rubens are spending their leisure time. Jenson Button is a great fan of jetskiing like most of the F1 drivers. But if he wants to go jetskiing, which car shall he choose? I guess there are a lot of cars in his garage. Therefore I created the HONDA MONOIKOS (the name Monaco conveys of the ligurian tribe monoikos).

Jenson Button is a british man, therefore a coupe with traditional “british” proportions…long bonnet,…”Aston Martin like”.

To give the car a touch of Monaco it is mainly inspired by yachts. The theme of the DLO and the roof , the rail on the back, the shape of the whole car in top view (boat hull), etc… are inspired by boats.

In the rear is a big luggage compartment comparable with a pickup car. This is the place where the jet-ski is stored. The car has also a ride height control system to drive on sandy beaches. The roof is removable. By pressing a button it will fold automatically up, turns 180 degrees and folds to the rear end of the car.

Monoikos would be powered by the FCX fuel cell technology.

the task was to create a gravity racer for some brand...to take part in the "xtreme gravity racing series"

I´ve chosen Citroen... the focus was mainly on creating a brandshaper for the brand.

Therefore a very extravagant appearance including elements of Citroens design language...
I took my inspiration from the C4 robot but also from old cars like the DS, SM and the Ami.
