KIA enRoute business coupe

a professional long distance car for the sustainable future

IMAGINE

The layout of the KIA enRoute shows ... its limited for 3 persons (a hugecomfortable driver seat for the salesman + 2 optional seats for woman or/and child). In my future scenario a salesman gets a business car just for his job processings. If there is a emergency or if he keeps the car over the weekend he can carry 2 more people. Usually there is the luggage compartment behind the driver seat. If the driver has to carry someone else he can fold down the two seats in the back.
Length > Audi A5 width, front > BMW 5 series E60. The height is changeable by ride-height control.
There is a possibility to put a high efficient piston (directly driven crankshaft) engine between the rear track and if electric technologies are perfected you can replace the piston engine by some batteries.

new technologies > new possibilities

next step

new proportions>new challenges : Sometimes it was a challenge to transfer a completely new car shape towards the current viewing habits. I like to challenge the habits.

first proposals (pulled capsule)

I started thinking about the basic shape. I wanted to keep it simple, therefore the sketching process started with a driver capsule + the required suspension elements. I decided myself in the end for a pulled capsule design.
Furthermore I decided to create a vehicle which is more based on car dimensions, than on a tiny eco-scooter.

mood board

the design of the car is inspired by these two main aspects

customer

The professional, roadwarrior, modern nomad

The frequent driver/traveling salesman is generaly interested in:

- new technologies
- efficient solutions (because its mostly a part of his job)
- higher level of education
- business etiquette is an important part of his job

>> he wouldn´t give up his prestige/status image for ecology reasons

logical sustainable> sustainable status>>state of the art image
therfore the car has to have a kind of sustainable hightech image + elegant status principles
